Dialects are the point

Generic translators produce Modern Standard Arabic, which is correct and which almost nobody speaks at home. For an Arabic speaker learning German in Vienna, an MSA rendering of a casual German sentence is a second translation problem rather than an answer.

So the app supports 8+ dialects — Syrian, Egyptian, Iraqi, Gulf, Moroccan, Lebanese, Jordanian, and Palestinian among them — and five tones from formal through academic to friendly, because "how do I say this to a landlord" and "how do I say this to a friend" are different questions with different right answers.
